Ladies, have we got a TREAT in store for you today! So, your honeymoon is on the horizon (I mean, that’s treat enough, no?!), but in the whirlwind of those last few months of wedding planning, it can be hard to put time aside to think about what the heck you’re gonna pack to look your most chic as a brand new Mrs while on that all important honeymoon!

It’s a tricky balancing act: you want to look and feel your most radiant (I mean it IS your honeymoon!), while also wanting nothing more but to be comfortable (and cool, if you’re headed to a hot climate!)… All while not packing your entire wardrobe for a two week trip! It’s a pretty tall order, right?!

Well, ladies! We’ve rounded up our favourite looks, styling tips and, short of actually writing you a personalised packing list, pretty much sorted your honeymoon wardrobe for 2017!

Kickin’ off with my absolute favourite fabric for this summer…

Linen Love

It’s got that carefree, kinda earthy-while-chic vibe going on… Know what I mean?! Free People are all over it, those über cool instagram brands are ALL about it and, well, so are we! Whether it’s a light weight off-shoulder shirt, some cute loose fit culottes, a dress or coord set, nothing says ‘honeymoon’ quite like fresh white (or a beautiful chambray blue) linen piece!

We’re loving the Free People Boy oh boy shorts and their Little Sway dress as well as just about everything by Summer + Storm for women.

...That pale blush shade though?! NOTED.

Layered Treasures

Nothing says ‘I’ve been sunning myself and frolicking on a beautiful deserted island for a month’ like returning home with a selection of layered treasures around your neck or wrists. It’s so perfectly bohemian; just screams ‘wanderlust’.

Of course it’s always best to pick up a few treasures on your travels (because memories n’ that!), but there’s no harm in taking a few pieces to get you a head start on your collection, and we say ‘the more the merrier!’

Include a variety of textures, necklace lengths, chain densities, even metal types! It’s a perfectly worldly look; so exotic and great against tanned skin!

Dress Up, Dress Down

I mean, it wouldn’t be a honeymoon wardrobe without a few kick-ass dresses packed, am I right?!

If dresses are your thing, then one has to be prepared for a few different eventualities: the beach-to-bar scenario, the day out exploring and the swanky little evening number (to mention but a few!).

Think lightweight flirty cottons, the easy-going maxi and, of course, the fabulously chic LBD!

And of course, as far as this season is concerned, if the dress has bell sleeves… Buy it!

All tied up

There is something delectably sassy about tie tops. They’ve got that kinda sixties, carefree, cute without being overtly feminine thing going on. Tied crop tops, tied shirts, tied bandeau bikinis, tied scarves pretending to be tops… We love it all!

If there’s one element that definitely needs to feature in your honeymoon wardrobe, the tie top is it, ladies!

Here’s our current faves:

The secret to acing this look seems to be to keep everything else simple. Let the contrast of your golden skin do all the talking!

Stripes, c’est chic

I feel like this is just a given, especially if you’re honey moonin’ in Europe. Chic stripes simply HAVE to feature in your suitcase!

Whether it’s a sweet little pair of striped linen shorts from the old faithful, H&M, or Topshop’s cropped stripe trousers, and whether it’s a pin thin stripe, bold block stripe… We’re gravitating towards a monochrome colour scheme or the classic chambray/white combination.

You just cannot go wrong!

That last shirt dress is just ticking all our boxes. Striped, lightweight shirt style, off-shoulder neckline, tie waist, billowing sleeves… YES!

Strawesome Accessories

Wait, wait! Don’t just scroll past!

I know, straw hats + holiday just SCREAMS ‘tourist’, right?! Well, hopefully, wrong! With any luck these little beauts will put that stereotype to bed!

Let’s start with THIS incredible number from Free People: the Cross My Heart wide brim hat (just so chic, and kinda adorable with that black ribbon!). Or if you’re looking for something a little more festival and boho, hit up this incredible fringe/pompom raffia number in a more fedora-like shape. Or there’s this little quirky Beach Bum loose weave boater (another Free People gem!).

Of course, straw isn’t simply resigned to hats, this material also makes for THE perfect honeymoon bag, and I hate to sound like a broken record but Free People have totally nailed this market, check out their:

And that, my friends, is how to work straw!

Slip into (and out of) Slides

Simply the only shoe you need to pack: the slide.

Open toe, close toe, suede, woven fabric. However you like them, nothing makes you feel more chilled than just being able to slip into and out of your shoes, especially in the heat.

And well, it’s kinda handy to be able to kick them off in a hurry… If you know what I’m saying! *wink wink*

Not to mention they are just the most stylish flip-flop alternative out there! We love these khaki babies by H&M and quite literally EVERYTHING by St Agni.

Block colour Bikinis

And last but not least, no honeymoon suitcase is complete without a bikini (or five!). We’re totally besotted with block colour swim pieces. Not only are they incredibly flattering, but if bought in coordinating colours, they’re also interchangeable making them a very versatile choice!

We adore classic shape one-pieces in brights, and high waisted bikinis in muted navy or forrest green. Very understated, very cool.

There are some incredible honeymoon-perfect pieces around this season, plenty of which are very flexible, making it easier and easier to pack a capsule-style suitcase wardrobe with endless possibilities!

Happy packing, brides-to-be!

Peace + Love
