Happy Friday Lovely Peeps! I hope you have something exciting planned for this weekend. Snow is on the forecast for where I am with an amber warning from the met office and the promise of 5-10cms. Let’s just hope that my pipes don’t freeze again like last time as that was not fun!
To celebrate that the weekend is creeping up the rear, we have some fabulous tipi wedding inspiration to share with you. Put together by Meadowsweet Vintage & Granny Janny’s Bunting for the Autumn open wedding of one of our preferred festival wedding suppliers, World Inspired Tents, the shoot has an opulent jewel theme with a rich colour palette of deep jades and emeralds, rich plums, berries and teal blues. It is also full of some fantastic decoration ideas from big, bold and beautiful flowers to Indian style bunting which we just love love LOVE.
If you are planning a tipi wedding and are wondering how to dress them, then this styled shoot is perfect for you. It is a great example of how awesome they can look once you have a colour palette and style in mind. It is also full of some fantastic festival wedding suppliers so get that wedding planning book out and make some notes!
Rich and Warm with Amazing Suppliers….
When we started planning our last Autumn Open Weekend we wanted to go for something rich and warm without veering into the more obvious orange and rust tones that we have used for autumn events in the past.
We kicked off the design process with a palette of deep jades and emeralds, rich plums, berries and teal blues, which became the opulent jewel theme that our super team of suppliers developed.
Along with supplying her vintage sari silk bunting, Granny Janny also took on half of the table styling. She used a highland take on the colour scheme for one of the tables, a gothic look for another, and a more elegant luxe look for one of her round tables.
Nat from Meadowsweet Vintage styled the other half of our tables, creating a flourished woodland arch on one and a rustic autumnal look on another (using some of her beautiful vintage china). For one of the more formal tables she styled a rich opulent table scape with a sumptuous floral centrepiece by Dartmoor Flowers.
Deborah, the florist behind Dartmoor Flowers favours using locally sourced flowers. She used British grown blooms for this event (supplied by The Moorland Flower Company) that she complemented with locally foraged foliage, berries and seed heads.
Edible Essence created a selection of cakes to fit the theme including an opulently dressed ‘bundt’ cake and individual naked cakes, as well as macaron favours for some of the more luxe tables.
The majority of the tableware we use for our Open Weekends is supplied by our good friends at South West Event Hire, and this time around was complemented by coloured glassware and ornate charger plates from Keeping it Vintage. Our chill out furnishings were supplemented with some beautiful vintage pieces from Virginia’s Vintage Hire in rich jewel tones.
Our Open Weekend took place in mid October 2017, so we were pleasantly surprised when in December Pantone announced Ultraviolet as their colour of the year, we seem to have inadvertently been a little bit ahead of the colour game on this occasion!
Spring Open Weekend….
World Inspired Tents will be holding their spring open weekend on the 28th & 29th April from 10am-4pm at Darts Farm, EX3 0QH. If you want to see their wedding tipis in action and meet some amazing festival wedding suppliers, then put the date in your diary now!
