Afternoon oh gorgeous ones. Whatever you are doing just stop, as today’s inspiration deserves no less than your full attention. Submitted by the wonderfully alternative wedding hire and styling company The Little Lending Company, this desert sunset inspired shoot took just a couple of hours to capture, as photographer Darina Stoda managed to transform a cold November Norfolk beach into a summertime Nevada Desert. Using an eclectic mix of timeless yet modern-laced props, the team transformed this simple shoot into something unique and totally accessible to the everyday bride. And we just love the colour scheme….already we’ve seen the rise in pink; from fashion through to décor and interiors, and the wedding world is no exception as it’s also about to become tinged with all shades of the colour too. Yes, you heard it here first! Baby pink, rosè, fuscia, almost every shade of pink you can possibly imagine will have it’s own place within future bridal parties.
We adore the setting and relaxed styling of this shoot, the Maids to Measure soft and pink two-piece and those utterly beautiful pink velvet boots. I for one won’t be wasting any more time not having a pair of those!
Dream on and enjoy….
Pink Desert Haze in Norfolk
Words by The Little Lending Company
This shoot was inspired by desert sands, cactus and those warm hazy pink and orange tones the sun creates before it sets. Florals were the starting point with a mix of softer more feminine pink blooms of roses, ranunculus, tuberose and mimosa with pampas grass as a modern on-point reference curated by Swaffham Florists.
With rocky, orange cliffs in the back drop, we took to the beach with Darina Stoda to shoot the collaboration. We wanted to give the illusion of a balmy Nevada desert. For good measure there were cactus a plenty through the low laying table styling, a pink velvet table runner, and wicker screen backdrop from The Little Lending Company’s range along with their newest addition of a gold horned buffalo. We used antique bronze side plates and cutlery to lift and add some highlights and opted for mixed textural pots and vessels in coral or sand. Stone place settings and pampas grass were used instead of foliage for a really modern place setting. The most delicious salmon pink stacked cake with bronze brushed macaroons was nestled into the tablescape by Fanny Bakes.
The model wears Alegra with a little lace trim ruffle by Sassi Holford and a soft pink tie front dress by Maids to Measure at The Bottom Drawer Bridal. Add in a taupe brushed suede hat decked with blooms and a washed out vintage denim jacket and this look is yours along with pink velvet boots, of course. Hair was loosely tussled for the ultimate wind swept pics and then a super high half up look to be more playful for your bride tribe. A fresh faced make-up look was the only way to go by Emily at Love Moi Makeup.
