Good morning beautiful people. We are so excited to share this stunning shoot with you, not only because its Scandi-inspired (which we love!) but it also features the most incredible line-up of collaborators. Submitted by the extraordinarily talented Jenna, Creative Director of Wonderland Invites, this Nordic themed masterpiece is seriously dreamy. Set in a beautiful venue over spilling with natural light and parish features, the building dates back to 1863 when it was originally an old school-house. This is a festive winter shoot without any hint of traditional festive; instead, the seasonal chic styling adheres more to Swedish trait décor, since Jenna visited the country pre-collaboration, giving her the inspiration and creative energy to produce the shoot. Gorgeously draped trestle tables, rays of window light and glistening wedding gowns along with the feast, supplied by Gourmandises, make this collaboration a real gift to the eye.

We adore it and we hope you do too. Here’s Jenna to tell you all about her project….

Stripped Back Swedish Inspiration

Words By Jenna (Stationer & Shoot Coordinator)

I’d been wanting to put together a winter styled shoot for a while, but didn’t want to go down the traditional, festive route. Inspired by a trip to Sweden last winter, and all things Nordic and Scandi, I opted for a stripped back theme with a neutral colour palette.

The Old Parish Rooms in Rayleigh is a striking venue; with stark white walls and lots of natural light flooding through the old arched windows. I knew it would be the perfect place to bring the vision I had to life. Kate Watts, the photographer, has a beautiful style; very ‘Scandi’ and detail-oriented. I knew she would be able to achieve the style of photography I had in mind. Equally, I knew she would work really well with Chloe Lee, who provided her videography services for the day.

Delicate and Dramatic Styling

We lent two dresses from Rock The Frock Bridal; a MilaMira dress for the first look, which featured a gorgeous, pale grey skirt. The second; a Saja dress in a champagne colour with beautiful detail on the floaty sleeves. Sash & Veil provided a stunning veil that draped either side of the models hair, which was beautifully sculpted by Lisa Alger. Amanda from AS Bridal Makeup created a dramatic look for our model, Chloe, with heavy, bold eyes and a nude lip which contrasted perfectly with the delicate hair pieces supplied by PS With Love.

Tart and Truffles….

I contacted Corinne from Gourmandises having worked on a shoot with her earlier this year. I didn’t want something typical for the cake…I wanted something really rich with lots of character. Corinne supplied an amazing two-tier cake alongside a chocolate tart and truffles. The smell was amazing, and the berries she used to adorn the cake fit perfectly with the theme.

I created a stripped back stationery suite and table menus, which featured a Nordic inspired wreath and gorgeous, forest green envelopes. My favourite piece was the statement table plan I had printed on organic cotton; we suspended the plan from the wooden arch with thick branches and black canvas strips.

Overflowing Trestle Tables, Ferns and Feathers

We utilised two raw, wooden trestle tables from Anthology Vintage Hire, one of which we used for a tablescape beautifully styled by Laura from Rock The Day Styling and featuring mini naked tipi’s crafted by Alex from Vintage Garden Weddings. And abundant grazing table by Grape & Fig adorned the second trestle table; a whole 8 feet of antipasti, cheeses, fruits and breads, which provided a beautiful pop of colour against the white walls of the venue.

Faith Gurel, of Finishing Touches , created a stunning bridal bouquet with flowing ferns, white anemones and red hydrangea. She also created an amazing piece for the wooden arch we lent from Vintage Garden Weddings for the ceremony area, which included an abundance of leaves and feathers. Additional foliage was used to dress some of the white walls, in a loose, hanging formation and also, the tablescape.
