When Carrie Elizabeth first got in contact with Clare via Instagram, we were completely blown away by her gorgeous jewellery. Sleek, stylish, bohemian and beautiful, each piece is crafted using either 14k gold vermeil and gold plated brass and set with the most beautifully coloured semi precious stones and diamonds. Her designs have a timeless yet modern elegance to them that we think would work perfectly with any bohemian, whimsical or festival style bridal look. The best part about them? They are affordable! Carrie’s aim when she launched her jewellery collection was to bridge the gap between fashion and fine jewellery and that gets a big thumbs up in our eyes.

Whether you are a bride, bridesmaid, mother of the bride or wedding guest, we think Carrie Elizabeth could become your new jewellery best friend!

We asked Carrie a few questions about her stunning designs and how you can get your hands on them….

Tell us a little bit about yourself?

Founding and launching Carrie Elizabeth was a dream come true. Ever since graduating with a Fashion Business degree, owning my own online retail business was my goal. I spent my 20’s working as a Jewellery Buyer for one of the UKs largest retailers- a job I absolutely loved- but as I turned 30 I decided that I was ready for a new challenge- and that the time was now!

During my time spent working as a Buyer, I learnt about all things technical- including how to design jewellery & work with talented craftsmen to make designs into reality. The beautiful hues of semiprecious stones were to captivating, that they soon became my passion!

It was also when working as a Buyer, that I travelled to and fell in love with India- which is where I now create all of the jewellery in our range. We work with incredible craftsmen, who cut and polish all of our stones by hand, and who’s families have been in the stone cutting business for generations. It’s such a special and inspiring place for me.

What made you decide to start Carrie Elizabeth?

Having spent years travelling to New York, Asia and India looking at the world’s most beautiful jewellery, I realised that there were so many ‘fine’ Jewellery brands that I absolutely adored- but couldn’t afford! But the affordable Jewellery that was available on the high-street didn’t have the luxuriousness and staying power I wanted.  Therefore, I decided to take a leap of faith and leave the world of Buying to set up a brand that could offer stunning designs, but at affordable prices- pieces that my friends and I would want to buy and wear.

Tell us a little bit more about your beautiful jewellery and the design process behind them?

I wanted to create a range bridged the gap between ‘fashion’ and ‘fine’ Jewellery- so that you could keep our pieces for years to come but they wouldn’t break the bank (not to mention they make the perfect gifts). All of the pieces are crafted in 14k Gold Vermeil (which is sterling silver and a really thick gold plate-2.5 microns to be exact) and set with real semi-precious stones and genuine diamonds.

What sort of diamonds and precious stones do you use?

We use the finest quality semi-precious stones, to ensure every piece shines beautifully in the light. Our diamonds are all ethically sourced, single cut delicate, tiny diamonds (which makes them affordable). The quality of the stones is very important to us, as we understand that when you purchase one of our products, you want the best.

If our couples were to order a piece of your jewellery, what sort of service can they expect?

Our items are posted out the next day and are delivered to any UK address within 48 hours of placing order. Delivery within the UK is free and only £6 internationally. We have an excellent customer service team who are ready and waiting to help you with any enquires you might have. All of our products are packed in beautiful pale grey and rose gold gift boxes, ready to give to that special person (including yourself!)

What’s your best piece of advice for couples when it comes to choosing their wedding rings?

We have a lot of enquiries from Brides and Grooms about buying our rings as engagement rings. If you are looking at our styles as your wedding rings, our advice on this would be to have us make them for you in Solid Gold, instead of Gold Vermeil. The reason for this is Gold Vermeil isn’t made to last a lifetime, and so the gold plating will naturally fade over time. However we can make any of our styles for you in solid gold or platinum- and can tweak stone colours etc…  Your wish is our command! Just get in touch and we will help in any way we can.

Do you have any advice for brides when it comes to matching your accessories with their dresses?

Less is often more. Chose something that compliments your dress and doesn’t take over, and that makes you feel like a million dollars. Subtle beauty is the most chic and effortless.

Which pieces of your collection would make good Bridesmaid gifts?

Our simple stone collections in Moonstone & Aquamarine have been designed to make the perfect gifts for bridesmaids. You can mix & match (depending on whether your girls prefer rings, necklaces, rings or earrings). They are beautiful, timeless, look beautiful in Wedding photographs and the best part is they can keep them for years to come.

Finally, what’s your life quote/motto at Carrie Elizabeth?

Oh this is hard as I have so many! Heres a few of my favourites…

Jewellery is about keeping memories alive

Surround yourself with diamonds, not negativity

Sometimes you meet someone, and it’s so clear that the two of you, on some level belong together. As lovers, or as friends, or as family, or as something entirely different. You just work, whether you understand one another or you’re in love or you’re partners in crime. You meet these people throughout your life, out of nowhere, under the strangest circumstances, and they help you feel alive. I don’t know if that makes me believe in coincidence, or fate, or sheer blind luck, but it definitely makes me believe in something.

All of Carrie Elizabeth’s pieces are ethically sourced and handmade in Jaipur India from the finest quality stones. As well as offering her jewellery in 14k gold vermeil and gold plated brass, solid gold is also available. Please contact Carrie for more information and quotes.
