Morning, gorgeous people! And from us to you, a very happy Friday! In today’s 10 Ways, the last of November no less, we’re chatting all things winter, because guys it’s pretty much upon us! From seasonal style must-haves, our latest TV obsession, the care your hair must have this winter, to the very first notions of Christmas prep (there, I finally said it!).

We’re satiating (and some might say exceeding!) your RDA of loveliness today! We’d recommend grabbing a strong coffee (anyone else had a long week?!), putting your feet well and truly up, and taking a moment to get feelin’ the festivities!

One: Berets all round

Autumn/Winter 2017 seems to have been all about the hat. First we had the cheeky little Baker boy (which is still well and truly a fave) and now, it’s the turn of the Beret.

From classic shades of red (which you might remember we discussed as being this season’s hottest colour!). to lovely soft nudes or even an edgier black leather number. Pair with mom jeans and sneakers for a super chill look, or with dishevelled locks, sunglasses and your favourite ankle boot for carefree Parisienne vibes.

We love these ones:

The classic beret from Topshop covers all your colour bases

The leather trim on this grey beret by asos is a gorgeous added touch

Or of course, you could go vintage! There are so many great second hand berets around (I feel like it’s a charity shop staple, no?!)

Two: A very Handmade Christmas

Now, I know, it’s still a little early for some people to be mentioning the C word… But guys, it’s happening! We’re all about making Christmas a bit more meaningful and doing our utmost to navigate away from the materialistic side of this holiday and towards personal, engaged gestures of love towards one another…

So, with that in mind, here’s our top three handmade gifts for Christmas 2017, helping you cut costs (super efficient if you make the same item for multiple recipients!) and gift something heartfelt and personal:

This DIY post is laden with recipes for naturally exfoliating shower bars. From Lemon + Peppercorn, to Citrus + Rose Sugar, and perfectly portioned for an in-shower treat! Yum!

For the crazy plant lady in your life: these sweet botanical trinket dishes.

Your mates will be shocked to learn they’re DIY when you present them with a set of these perfectly on trend pom pom earrings!

Three: Now Obsessing Watching

Season 4, we’re only two episodes in and I’m gonna go ahead and say it might be my favourite season yet!

If you haven’t guessed it already, we’re talking Peaky Blinders. The BBC period drama set among a working class group of Birmingham gangsters. It. Is. Everything.

Not least, because it stars the (hot as hell) Cillian Murphy, and (like that isn’t enough!) a side order of Mr Tom Hardy. SWOON. I mean, there’s a lot more to it than that, an incredible story line, cast, acting… etc. But I thought I’d hit you with the really good news first.

If you’re yet to hit up season 4, check out the trailer below (*SPOILER ALERT*) and keep your diary clear for 9pm Wednesday night, BBC 2.

Four: Hair Saviour

Babes, I took one for the team and asked my many lovely hair styling goddess friends (aren’t I a lucky girl?!) for their most recommended products to save dry (and in my case, also bleached!) hair that’s got the winter blues, and giiiirl did they deliver!

Between the cold weather, wind, central heating, extra heat styling and maybe even still a bit of a hangover from sunny/salty summer days (not to mention the hair colouring!), our hair can lose it’s glossy lustre at this time of year, to say the least! Whelp, I’ll delay no longer, here are my girl’s top recommendations to save that mane of yours:

Colour Wow, Coconut Cocktail Bionic Tonic – the lovely ladies at one of my locals, The Barn, recommended this gorgeous leave-in supplement to instantly restore gloss and silky, liquid-y mobility to dry frizzy hair.

Living Proof, Restore Mask – Festival Brides fave, Jo of LoveHair, jumped straight to my rescue (BABE) with Living Proof’s Restore treatment: a powerful, deep, weightless conditioning treatment for dry, damaged hair that instantly heals and strengthens, while adding softness and shine.

Olaplex, No. 3and finally, the babes at my gorgeous Salon, Salon65, recommended their in-salon Olaplex treatment, followed by the Olaplex No. 3: an at home bond builder that contains the same active ingredient found in all professional Olaplex products. Patented technology relinks the broken disulfide bonds in every type of hair providing real, structural repair that works from within.

Five: Getting Festive

Pretty much everyone I’ve spoken to so far is having a hard time feeling even remotely festive, or even anticipating getting festive this year! So we’re amping it up big time to try and get in the wintery, holiday spirit, because frankly, Christmas isn’t just gonna happen all by itself, is it?!

Aside from relentlessly playing Christmas music, lighting the all the cinnamon-based candles and watching Elf on repeat, we’re getting booked in to all the festive goings on that are starting to hit our calendars! Light switch-ons, tree shopping, carol services, pop-up cinemas for all our fave christmas movies, opting for all the festive hot drinks with friends… You name it and there’s a note in our calendar for it!

Get your cutest winter outfit on, grab you’re nearest and dearest and get in the spirit of things!

Six: Know Your Energy

Chakras. Now before anybody has the chance to ‘hmph!’ and scroll on by, check this out for science-based correlations… Did you know that the chakra energy system matches that of your endocrine system (the gland-based system that secretes hormones in your body), despite the fact that it was discovered in India between 1500 and 500 BC in the oldest text, called the Vedas, when the endocrine system wasn’t named until the early 20th century… Maybe, just maybe, those yogis were onto something hey?!

So what are the Chakras? According to yoga traditions, a chakra is one of seven points in the human body, each responsible for a specific spoke of physiological function and emotional experience. Chakras make up the subtle elements of the body, the untouchable aspects that, when working in harmony, circulate energy and regulate physical and emotional health. The seven chakras, and the human qualities they represent, are:

Muladhara (Root Chakra) – Basic trust

Svadisthana (Pelvic or Sacral Chakra) – Sexuality and creativity

Manipura (Navel or Solar Plexus Chakra) – Power

Anahata (Heart Chakra) – Healing and love

Visuddha (Throat Chakra) – Expression

Ajna (Third Eye Chakra) – Inspiration, awareness and intuition

Sahasrara (Crown Chakra) – Spirituality and enlightenment

We’ve been loving exploring the idea of Chakras for the past few months. You can utilise different yoga poses to open and create space for energy to flow through each individual chakra, or use guided meditations to help balance the flow of energy or help to focus on different chakras. Fascinating stuff, right?

And if you wanna explore them further, check out Free People’s gorgeous weekly Chakra Sunday feature – giving you the low down on each chakra!

Seven: Winter Staple

I feel like nothing says ‘got her shit together’ like a pair of quality jeans, who’s with me?! Bed head in tact, a slouchy knit thrown on and still wearing a little left-over eyeliner from last night, but if you’ve got a quality pair of jeans on, with the perfect fit, you’re alright, kid!

This is definitely a resolution of mine from now on: to only buy quality denim (the Levis 501 being the next on the list!)

Year round (but definitely Winter) staples we cannot be without!

Eight: Let’s Decorate

Ok, disclosure: as a new home owner I may be a little over excited about decorating for Christmas (no judgey!), nevertheless there are some awesome festive decorations out this year!

From IKEA’s gorgeous paper star lighting, to the kitsch quirkiness of Urban Outfitters tree ornaments, fun pieces by Rockett St George, and of course Free People’s perfectly bohemian ornaments.

Nine: Now Following

You might have spotted her gorgeous beret and vans combo earlier in today’s post, but we have fallen head first for London fashion blogger, Alex aka The Frugality.

This blog is not about living off toast every night. I believe there are people out there like me: I live off every penny I earn, my wage goes towards my mortgage, bills, travel and food. But I don’t set my sights low, I still want to look stylish everyday, I still want Hay chairs for my house and a Gucci bag to carry my wares, I’m just sensible with money where I can be to afford the luxuries. This blog grew from years of friends telling me ‘you always find the best stuff on the High Street’. And now my circle of friends has grown into readers too. This is an insight into my world.

Alex’s style is right up our street, and her affordable choices (with a little luxury mixed in!) speaks straight to our souls (and bank balances!). Be sure to give her a follow on Instagram and let the shopping commence!

Ten: Thankful

In the spirit of Thanksgiving (and in the hope of sending some counter Black Friday positive vibes out into the universe!) we’re taking a moment today (and everyday!) to be truly thankful for all that we have and enjoy.

We’re gonna take time to write one of these gratitude wheels this weekend, sometimes it just really helps to get it down and recognise it on paper!

Everything shifts into the light with a little gratitude.

And on that note, now seems like a great time to thank you! Our gorgeous tribe. Whether you’re new to the blog, or loyal readers we appreciate and we’re so grateful for each and every one of you!

Have a beautiful weekend babes and we’ll see you on the flip side!

Peace + Love
