Wedding Yurts NEW beautiful addition to their stunning collection of yurts and tents!!
After months of craftsmanship, Wedding Yurts are delighted to announce their magnificent 32-ft handcrafted new yurt has been completed. The elaborate yurt is ready to offer an intimate venue for engaged couples looking to escape mainstream wedding venues and recreate a festival chic vibe in the beautiful British countryside. Wedding Yurts celebrated the launch of the new yurt with a festival inspired photo shoot at yurt friendly venue Sychpwll in Wales.
Boasting wild flower meadows and a kaleidoscope of butterflies, the beautiful surroundings of Sychpwll provide the perfect venue for the DIY bride. Photography by Louise Holgate and a cascade of gypsy paper poms by Juliet of Paper Poms UK cleverly showcased the stunning wedding dresses provided by Clare from The Wedding Club. Lizzie, founder of Wedding Yurts, commissioned the crafting of the brand-new super yurt back in 2011. It is the most elaborate, extravagant and largest yurt yet to be added to The Wedding Yurt portfolio. Measuring 32ft wide, with a capacity to host a party for up to 150 guests, the luxury yurt has been handcrafted from sweet chestnut wood and covered in cream canvas. Handmade by two Welsh master craftsmen, the bespoke yurt took many months to create and boasts a finely finished framework. Careful consideration was given to the design of the structure to ensure the 32-ft yurt was crafted in keeping with traditional methods.
Originally yurts were used to provide shelter for nomadic tribes as they travelled across the plains of Asia herding sheep. The nomadic lifestyle appeals to Lizzie’s passion for travelling and with wedding yurts booked out to venues all over the U.K next year she and her partner Jim will be taking to the road.
Unlike other venues, Wedding Yurts provide the ideal solution for couples looking to host a reception that embraces Britain’s rural beauty without losing the luxury and style that bricks and mortar venues offer. Wedding Yurts pose a relaxed, magical and boutique atmosphere which is hard to create in a marquee. The yurts feature wooden floors and furniture designed and made by Jim, wood burners, fire woks, soft furnishings, embroidered cushions, dozens of glass jars and candles, a fuchsia pink liner and strings of golden fairy lights which provide a blissfully intimate ambiance for this unique wedding destination.
Lizzie and Jim strive to deliver an intimate bespoke service, aiding couples down to the very last detail. Expertly crafted packages, advising on beautiful, yurt-friendly locations, florists, entertainment and photographers are just part of the unique service offered to clients. For those clients wishing to extend their yurt wedding experience beyond The Big Day, a special honeymoon yurt is also available which offers romantically decorated boutique accommodation for an unforgettable wedding night under the stars.
With a background in festivals, Lizzie and Jim began hosting chocolate and champagne yurts, offering a little bit of indulgent luxury to festival goers. Having outgrown wellies, anoraks and portaloos, the couple progressed to explore the diverse wedding market where they found a real demand for one-of-a-kind handcrafted weddings.
The beautiful antique champagne cocktail bar is available for hire, licenced, staffed and stocked with your favourite drinks and raw chocolate treats; a menu can be tailor made to suit your tastes. Wedding Yurts are also fabulous whatever the season. Yurts are both cool in summer and warm in the winter. The top point of the yurt boasts a stunning window measuring 6ft wide that can be opened to allow you watch the clouds pass by and let in the summer breeze. Yet in winter a wood burner located in the middle of the yurt creates a truly magical and cosy feel.
Lizzie said: “A yurt is perfect for a unique wedding as, unlike any other venue, it gives a bride and groom the freedom and flexibility to reflect their personality in their big day. Our yurts are absolutely ideal for couples looking to avoid conventional weddings and embrace the delights of the great outdoors.”
