Happy Sunny Tuesday Lovelies!
A few weeks ago we introduced you to The Fabulous Wedding Festival – the UK’s first ever festival wedding show that will be taking place on the 16th March in Devon. The show is already shaping up to be an extravaganza of everything that is quirky and alternative in the festival wedding industry and we are very excited to be such a big part of it.
We promised to update you with regular posts on what you can expect to see at this awesome wedding show and, being ladies of our word, here is the first update of some very cool and very lovely tent/tipi/yurt suppliers that are waiting to woo you at the show with their Festival greatness!
World Inspired Tents
The Fabulous Wedding Festival is pleased to announce World Inspired Tents as their main Tipi sponsor. These Kata style tents are a fantastic addition to any festival wedding and look great in a large open space surrounded by countryside.
Inspired by the Sami people of Lapland, the giant tipis offer an exciting, practical and visually stunning alternative to a traditional marquee. Any number can be joined together to create a single covered space, from 50 to 500 guests or more.
Choosing beautiful canvas and wooden tipis to host your event is only half the story. The other half is the people who make it happen and for Ed at World Inspired Tents the focus is always on providing an excellent service for their customers ……
From our customers’ perspective we want World Inspired Tents to be as much about us, as a team of dedicated people, as it is about the tipis themselves. Our aim is simple; to surpass the expectation of every customer, every time, from start to finish.
These lovely canvas structures will host the majority of the suppliers at The Fabulous Wedding Festival including Festival Brides! There will also be various Festival Styled Tables, Jewellers, The Boys Area and The Photography and Videography Art Gallery section which we can’t wait to see!
Big Top Mania
Kelly and I have been a HUGE fan of these circus style tents ever since they were featured in an amazing Glastonbury Wedding we posted last year. Not only are they one of our directory recommended suppliers, they are also one of the nicest bunch of people you will ever meet and are guaranteed to work extremely hard to accommodate your wedding plans.
The Catwalk and live music will be featured in the big top red and white festival tent and we couldn’t think of a better place for them. Bring on the entertainment!
At BellAbode, the chosen tent type for their glamping business is the classic bell tent. These are the traditional, heavy canvas, circular tents, supported by a single, central pole – first used by the military nearly two hundred years ago. We prefer this style of tent because they look fabulous, are surprisingly bright and spacious inside, and offer a fair bit of standing room – there’s no crawling around on your knees in a bell tent!
Our own chosen models are British made, extra heavy weight canvas bell tents – the advantage of these tents is that they are more hard wearing than other models and provide some warmth in cold weather and a cool haven when it’s hot outside. On a really hot day, the bottom of the tent can be rolled up all the way round, to provide a cool breeze (and a view) to anyone languishing inside.
For glamping in particular, bell tents are perfectly suited as they offer a blank canvas (pardon the pun!) upon which to build any decorative theme. Glamp up the tent with some bunting, twinkly lights, wild flowers, cushions and lanterns and the scene is set for some seriously glamorous camping!
BellAbode will be offering accommodation for the show, as well as showcasing their bell tents for wedding bookings, so if you fancy glamping it up in style on the 16th then be sure to get in touch with Becky at The Fabulous Wedding Festival. Accommodation will go on sale this week!
Another favourite of Festival Brides, Hooes Yurts offer beautiful yurts that can be used for your wedding reception, accommodation or as a chill out area for your guests! They specialise in decorating their yurts with exotic textiles creating beautiful ethnic style venues that are perfect for adding the wow factor to your wedding.
Amy and Max of Hooes Yurts have been supporting Festival Brides from day dot so we are very excited to be working alongside them at the show!
The Fabulous Wedding Festival will also be offering wild camping where a limited number of people can camp in the woods! This will be very basic accommodation, only recommended for the hardy campers amongst you, but it will be amazing fun. I may even be tempted to this one!!! Acoustic sets around the camp fire – sold.

We’ll be posting more updates soon so watch this space.
