The Oak Grove, a beautiful licensed outdoor woodland wedding venue in North Kent, is holding an open day on Saturday 27th May from 11am-4pm and you are invited! Come and join owners Paul and Sam who will be waiting to greet you with a glass of champagne (or cup of tea if that’s what you prefer) whilst you witness first hand everything this unique outdoor venue has to offer. From their willow ceremony area (where you can legally get married) to their very cool stretch tents and amazing countryside views – this is an open day that you will not want to miss if you are still searching for that perfect outdoor venue.
About The Oak Grove….
The Oak Grove is located at Twinney Wharf, a farm wharf dating back centuries that was used to take local farm and brick products to London by sailing barge. Nestled on the land side of the sea wall, between sheep fields and an apple orchard, is a 4 acre wooded glen which is the home of the wedding venue. Here you will find a licensed living willow hand-fasting and blessing area, a stretch tent within a woodland glade for 120 people and beautiful countryside views that extend for miles. They are also located in the narrow band of North Kent that enjoys the lowest rainfall figures for the whole of the UK – great news if you are worried about the weather!
Here are some of the highlights you can expect to see at their open day….
View The Licensed Ceremony Area….
Across a small stream, and on top of a low grassy mound, you will find the living willow ceremony area. This enchanting leafy structure is handmade using living willow which has been intertwined with metal to make a striking focal point for your ceremony. At night the space is transformed by twinkling fairy lights into a beautiful romantic haven for you and your guests to escape to.
The ceremony area can seat up to 140 people on hay bales or comfortable wooden chairs.
View The Stretch Tent….
Come and look inside their wonderful (and huge!) sculptural stretch tent which is included in the venue hire fee. This magnificent tent sits under the canopy of Oak trees which means it remains shaded and cool in the height of summer and protected from anything an English summer can throw at it. It can comfortably seat 120 people.
Fizz (and soft drinks for the drivers) will be provided all day.
Meet Tiger Lily….
Tiger Lily is a beautiful 1950’s single decker bus that has recently been converted into a very cool mobile bar by husband and wife team Marsha and Geoff. Available to hire for weddings and events within a 40 mile radius from Horsham in West Sussex, Tiger Lily offers a fully stocked bar as well as a lovely cocktail menu. She can also provide snacks, cream teas and cake. She would look so good at a Festival Wedding and would most certainly provide a unique experience for your guests.
Enjoy Treats From A Vintage Horse Box…
Elliott’s Catering and Events will be showcasing their beautiful Vintage Horse Box which can provide canapés with prosecco, hog roasts, traditional afternoon teas with vintage china, homemade lemonade and elderflower cordial. They will also be introducing “Laura” their Vintage Confetti Bar complete with dried delphinium petals in a variety of colours and their beautiful vintage Candy Cart.
Catering and staff services….
Claire Wood is a locally based caterer with her own team of staff. She can provide a bespoke package including waiter service and a variety of catering options and will be on hand throughout the day to chat about how she can help with your wedding.
