Afternoon Peeps,

We have such an awesome festival wedding to share with your lovely faces today. Held on the 1st August 2015 at The Angel Inn in Blyth, Nottinghamshire, David and Stacy did it all! They had festival wrist bands, a full line up of bands, fair ground style entertainment, food stalls, fancy dress, a campervan and lots and lots of smiles! They even had their own T-Shirts printed complete with a festival line-up on the back which I just think is a genius idea.

Playing on their love for music and festivals, David and Stacy named their wedding BFest and aimed to create a day that was fun, relaxed and very different to any other wedding they had been too before. They wanted all of their guests to feel comfortable and enjoy every minute and I think you’ll agree from their pictures that this is something they most definitely achieved. Everyone looks like they are having a brilliant time.

Captured brilliantly by Mark Crayden Photography, David and Stacy talk us through their day.

A Vintage Diamond and The Northern Lights….

We decided to get married before David proposed, so had each others initials tattooed onto our wrists instead of rings. We bought a house and moved in on 26th October 2014 then David whisked Stacy off a few days later without her knowing where she was going. He pulled out a stunning vintage diamond and asked her to marry him under the Northern lights, Iceland.

An Intimate Ceremony and Relaxed Meal…..

We decided to have a civil wedding service at this hotel because it was located close to our ‘festival venue’. The ceremony was an intimate affair with only 30 guests including us. .

My Dad and I arrived at the hotel in a VW camper van just before midday. We were greeted by my bridesmaids, Kelly and Gemma, and then made our way up to the Claverdon Suite where David was waiting. The children walked down the aisle to ‘Waterfall, Stone Roses’ carrying banners with messages reading ‘please stand’, ‘here comes the bride’ and ‘tissues maybe required’.  After the children were seated Kelly and Gemma walked down the aisle to the song ‘Amazing Grace’ sung by Rebbecca Feguson. Stacy and her dad followed and then the ceremony began. We chose readings and both were beautifully read by Emma and Adam. We said our Vows and made our promises (had a little cry) before signing the register the music we chose was ‘At last, Etta James’. David being a massive Liverpool Fan wanted to walk up the aisle to ‘you’ll never walk alone, Gerry and the pacemakers’. We all gathered on the lawn for drinks, canapés, photographs and well wishes. We sat down to eat at 1:30; our guests had opened their wedding favors before we had entered the room. This was quite funny because we walked in and they were all wearing a crazy pair of glasses! We had Yorkshire pudding for starters (It was Yorkshire day and Stacy is a Yorkshire Lass). Dinner was very relaxed and enjoyable. David made an informal speech along with his dad. The main speeches were taking place at the BFest. We left our guests to relax for an hour while we went off for photographs around the local area.

Anything Old and Vintage….

We decorated the venue with old vintage tea/ apple crates as display stands and anything old and vintage that we could get hold of i.e. suitcases, candelabras and old watering cans. Table decorations were old alcohol bottles, jars, anything that could be upcycled or recycled. Stacy and her friends also made 100m of bunting from scratch.

Favourite Moment…..

Hard to say because it was all amazing but if we had to pick one it would be saying our vows and promises to each other.

Any Advice….

Enjoy planning it; don’t get hung up on all the traditional things people think weddings are about. Do it the way you want to and enjoy it!
