Happy Monday Peeps!

Hope you all had a lovely weekend.

I’m taking the tone down a little bit with today’s Independent Love Song. I’ve thought about posting this song for a while but every time I’ve listened to it I’ve thought it’s just a bit too depressing. I’m definitely more of an upper girl than a downer when it comes to music so this song, although beautiful, has never made the final cut.

However today, I feel differently towards it. It’s actually an incredibly moving song and deserves to be put up there as an alternative first dance love song. Stephen Merritt’s baritone voice just suits the lyrics and song perfectly.

The Book of Love by the Magnetic Fields explains how stupid, boring, confusing and pointless the concept of love can sometimes be but how wonderful it is to be in love with somebody all the same. That somebody can make all these pointless things make sense.

‘I love it when you give me things
And you, you ought to give me wedding rings’

Would love to know what you all think of this one……………enjoy xx

Big Love
