So it’s a fact that no festival wedding is truly complete unless there is a tent or two in sight right? The two come hand in hand. But it’s also a fact that not everyone attending your wedding is going to want to pitch up and camp, despite your enthusiasm for what an amazing time everyone will have if they just open their mind and relax into it.
However, if you were to hire Hotel Bell Tent’s beautiful boutique camp for the weekend (which comes with a range of classic, luxury or VIP furnished ‘rooms’ and a communal chill-Out Lounge (love!)) then you may be surprised at how many of your guests decide that camping isn’t such a bad idea after all…………
Hotel Bell Tent has grown hugely since it’s humble beginnings in 2008 when partner company Bell Tent UK was asked to provide a boutique camp for Haselstock Festival. The following year brought the first official pitch as Hotel Bell Tent when they were asked to provide a camp of 30 tents for Glastonbury festival and 70 tents for Glade Festival. From there it was onwards and upwards!
Hotel Bell Tent now operates at over 40 festivals, parties, weddings and corporate events all over the UK each year. Their pop-up canvas accommodation consists of up to 260 Bell Tents and 40 Emperor Tents – which can be set up to create luxuriously cosy glamping packages sleeping two, four or six people. They also provide a reception and 24 hour assistance, bell boy service and chill out lounge as standard, with added extras from event to event.
“We will create an incredible tailor-made Hotel to suit you and your guest-list, taking care of all aspects of production and even creating a bespoke web-page for your event so that your guests can book directly with us – taking the extra pressure and hassle off your hands!”
The Hotel Bell Tent Concept
“Our concept blends the romance of sleeping under canvas with the fun, glamour, luxury and service you would expect in a boutique hotel.” Says the lovely Tiff from Hotel Bell Tent. “Tents are beautifully dressed with accessories and furniture from our ‘Camping with Soul’ accessories range along with Egyptian cotton bedding and fluffy bath towels.” Sounds amazing!
“Guests can relax and sleep in ultimate luxury and style in a grassy field, close to the action of their event. No pitching or packing down necessary and no need to leave the fun early! Simply turn up, enjoy, and leave all the hard work to us.”
Back in September Hotel Bell Tent held their annual end of season showcase in Oxfordshire which unfortunately we couldn’t attend, however Tiff emailed us some pictures and details of the event and as it sounded so awesome we couldn’t resist sharing them with you!
The Oxfordshire event was a huge success – blessed with great weather, amazing food, superb music, a wonderful crowd and, of course, some spectacular tents.
They showcased a variety of tents in a picturesque apple orchard and guests were welcomed to explore and enjoy the sumptuous Bridal suite, a luxurious Hollywood style pamper lounge, a fancy dress tent, a poker lounge, a gaming tent, chill-out lounges and much more. Biblos catering dished up a Lebanese and Greek inspired ‘Meze Banquet’ of deliciously seasoned fresh herb salads, super tasty baba ghanoush and hummus along with mouth-watering hot lamb, chicken and falafel dishes. Jigantics’ giant lighting structures made an already gorgeous orchard setting look all the more magical with 8 metre high theatrical tulips.
Live music was provided by esteemed electronic band ‘The Egg’ – veteran favourites of Glastonbury, The Big Chill and Bestival – who debuted tracks from their fourth studio album ‘Something To Do’. The Dulwich Village Ukulele Band (part of the Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain) and the wonderfully eclectic Rabbit Foot Spasm Band provided some good old fashioned toe tapping to jig-inducing entertainment in Katalystic’s spectacular Giant Kata Hat Tents. Local ale and impressive cocktails kept guests more than content in between (and during) food and music.
Next years showcase will be held on the 20th September 2013 so if you are thinking of having your own little glamping site at your wedding then make sure you put this date in your diary. We will definitely be attending!
