If you are planning an outside wedding and are looking for an alternative to the traditional wedding marquee, something with a little bit more ‘raz ma taz’ but practical and easy on the old bank balance – then Hooe’s Yurts could just be the ticket!
Owned by the lovely Amy and Max Dugmore, Hooe’s Yurts hire out beautifully decorated Mongolian styled round wooden yurts, that are perfect for couples who want a wedding with the real wow factor and alternative style!
Obviously we are a lover of all things festival wedding related, and these bad boys have featured at some of the UK’s best loved festivals including Glastonbury, Bestival, The Secret Garden Party and Shambala.
Bjork even used one of Hooe’s Yurts large yurts as the venue for her after party at Bestival so if it’s good enough for Bjork then it’s good enough for Festival Brides!!
Constructed from treated timber and white canvas, Hooe’s Yurts have a huge selection of different sized Mongolian tents, starting from 14ft right up to 44ft which can seat 12o people.
They can be used individually or linked together to create an amazing space for a wedding reception – excellent if you want to have various zones for dancing, dining and chilling!
The larger yurts also offer beautiful and intimate spaces in which to hold a handfasting or wedding blessing and can act as your ‘plan B’ if you’re having an outside wedding and the heavens decide to open!
Once inside they feel solid, sumptuous and welcoming, creating a perfect space for any gathering. I love the shape and pattern of the ceiling and how light and spacious they feel.
Amy is passionate about textiles and travels the world collecting items to lovingly decorate and furnish the yurts adding a unique, luxurious, exotic and vibrant touch to the interiors. Places such as Vietnam, Laos, Myanmar (Burma), Mexico, Rajasthan and Gujarat – amazing! Amy, if you ever need a second opinion whilst traveling, I’m sure I can make myself available!!!?
All the yurts can be well heated with traditional wood burners which make spring and autumn weddings a real possibility.
The smaller yurts can also be used as bedrooms for wedding guests who would like to sleep near the wedding and experience something a little bit different.
Hooe’s Yurts also specialise in designing exquisite honeymoon yurts for the wedding couple – check out the amazing interiors below! I so want to lye in that bed and soak up all the rich colours – stunning.
Amy and Max have just got married themselves so understand the excitement and importance of “the big day” and love helping make other peoples weddings romantic, exotic and unforgettable.
