Happy Friday lovely People!

It’s almost the weekend!! Whoop whoop!

Today we have an absolute treat of a festival wedding. Not only is it jam packed full of festival elements, its also one of the happiest and smiliest (is that even a word!?) weddings we’ve featured on Festival Brides.

Charlotte and Josh got married on the 8th June 2012 at Polesworth Abbey, the very same church where Charlotte’s parents married and where she had also been christened. The ceremony was then followed by a festival fun picnic reception at the Purley Chase Centre where their Glastonbury vision really came to life.

Amy Lewin Photography is the talent behind these beautiful images and as there are so many lovely shots to share (and its a Friday), we have decided to treat you guys and split the wedding into two parts – you lucky things you!

Over to Charlotte and Josh………….

A music based proposal

“A friend of ours bought us tickets to an event at the Southbank Centre for New Year with Bellowhead playing. It was a circus theme and I’m scared of clowns so I had a few jagers to help me rationalise! When Big Ben signaled the New Year, Josh got down on one knee – I knew he was serious as he was wearing his new jeans but I still couldn’t process it until the following morning! What was really great though was my friend  started this huge chant of ‘Gurney’s getting married’ which everyone joined in with! It was totally mental but awesome all the same!”

A Festival Vision

“It’s always been our thing to do Glastonbury, or any other music festival that’ll have us, and we just love it. The whole vibe of just being true to who you are but making sure you’re having fun, seemed ideal for a wedding. We just really wanted to enjoy ourselves and make sure our guests had a great time.

I wanted colour and our festival theme to come through so that’s what we did.”

Charlotte wore a stunning Benjamin Roberts dress and designed her own birdcage veil which had been made specifically for her by a local lady. Her friend supplied the flowers and made her beautiful bouquet along with the grooms pin and bridesmaid flowers.

Part 2 will be on the blog on Monday and you don’t want to miss it peeps! We’re talking festival flags, tipis, a Glastonbury ribbon tower, picnic hampers and a whole lot of fun!
