Valentine’s Day Accordion Envelope Card

13 Feb

Now I’m not a huge lover of Valentines day, hating all things commerical and money making!! Nick never seems to complain but I don’t engage in the card and present buying but I do like to make something like a cake or a card.

This year I have found this fab Accordian Envelope Card on Martha Stewart

I love the idea that you can personalise it to mean something very special to you both – using photographs, sweets, notes and memoirs to make a very unique card.

Learn how to make yours here

Now I’m off to find some small envelopes……………..where did I put them!! xx

Prettywild Stationery Design for Festival Style Weddings

6 Nov

Today we bring you an awesome supplier for all your festival wedding stationery needs… Prettywild Design is a bespoke stationery service based in Kent. (We love a local girl!!) We were blown away by Suzanne’s beautiful and vibrant designs. Check out her most recent designs…

The brief was to create something fun and quirky, with a circus feel, loosely around a previous design called Carnival and a bespoke order created for another couple based on a Vaudeville theme (shown in the montage above).  The new design called Carousel (pictured below) combines these themes and suited their colour scheme of deep purple, orange and a hint of pink. (lovely!!)

The tables were to be named after the couple’s ‘bucket list’ of places they would love to visit together during their married life and they wanted to represent this. And so the seating plan took on a life of it’s own with a retro travel poster feel!

A long vertical format  with the guest names printed horizontally beneath each table name and printed on a 34 x 16″ canvas. The design was kept heavily typographic  to complement the intricate layout of the Order of the day booklets, which were to be designed like circus-style flyers and printed on a heavy silk cardstock. A photobooth sign and matching table names completed the set.

Festival Brides Love: The Original Wedding Tea Towel

27 Oct

I have been planning on doing a feature on The Original Wedding Tea Towel from the moment Kelly and I started Festival Brides, but I’ve just been waiting to build up a bit more of a following as this innovative wedding stationery supplier deserves to be seen!

After receiving such an amazing response to our blog, both from the wedding industry and brides & grooms to be (thank you so much for your support), I feel that time is now.

Here at Festival Brides we give a big thumbs up to any supplier that is offering something alternative to the wedding industry and I’m very excited to share with you one of the coolest wedding invitations I’ve seen to date.

I absolutely LOVE “The Original Wedding Tea Towel” company! What better way to invite your guests to your wedding than an eco-friendly, unique and uber-cool wedding tea towel.

Instead of sending your guests a traditional paper wedding invite that, after your wedding, usually ends up in the recycling bin or (if your anything like Bob) under a huge pile of lists and paperwork, you send a quirky and colourful tea towel that will create a buzz about your wedding, makes a great keepsake for years to come and is useful in the kitchen!

I think this idea is brilliant! I can just imagine guests faces when these arrive through the letter box!

You can choose from a range of classic and boutique designs  (my favourites are below) or you can create something totally new and bespoke so it reflects the personality of your day.

I wonder what crafty design would be created for a Festival themed wedding………………!
