Festival Brides Love: Astley Clarke – NEW Bridal Collection

21 Mar

Just over a month ago, Kel and I were lucky enough to be invited to the launch of the stunning new bridal collection from Astley Clarke Jewellery at their beautiful showroom at 6 Junction Mews, London. Not only did we have our own private viewing of the new bridal range (with a glass of champagne in one hand and a yummy cupcake in the other), we also got to try on as many pieces of jewellery as we liked! As you can imagine this took most of the afternoon!

We were in our element, especially as the style and ideas behind each piece of jewellery couldn’t have been more perfect for Festival Brides. Here’s why………..

Friendship Bracelets

Astley Clarke combines beautiful craftsmanship and inspirational designs that rejoice in gemstones and symbolic meanings.

Founded by Bec Astley Clarke in 2006, each piece of jewellery stems from her belief that there was a lack of imaginatively designed fine jewellery available online for the new generation of luxury customer. She believed people desired jewellery that meant more to them than just a pretty bit of sparkle. So, she combined her travel experiences and love for different cultures with her talent for design and used this to create a jewellery collection that is eclectic, fun, inspirational, meaningful, unique and above all beautiful.

Their bridal collection, which is full of colourful charm bracelets which we swooned over, is the perfect match for a Festival Bride who is looking for a bit more than just a bracelet that goes with her dress! We want a story, to be inspired, to wear something on our wedding day that has been created by the heart and means something to us.

Wisdom Charm Bracelet

Astley Clarke’s charm and friendship bracelets from the collection were the stand out items for us. Streets apart in design from your more traditional charm bracelets, they come in a range of quirky colours with a wide array of charms to choose from. Each charm has its own unique meaning and combined together you can create a story that is personal to you.

Friendship Bracelets

We fell in love with these friendship bracelets. Each one is hand woven in Italy in 18ct gold and silk threads and is designed to tie simply around your wrist so that the tassel ends hang free. Each charm has a unique meaning and their colours look fabulous layered together – I want one!!

I think they would make the perfect accessory for a festival bride on her wedding day. We especially love the ‘Love Charm Bracelet’ for obvious reasons!

The gemstone friendship bracelets below are also stunningly different and true to Astley Clarke’s ethos of creating unique pieces that celebrate gemstones and symbolic meaning.

Each bracelet is made up of different types of gemstones with a single charm delicately attached and is exclusive to Astley Clarke.

The below is called the Hamsa Friendship Bracelet and I love love LOVE it!

The bracelet consists of faceted red agate and 18 carat gold vermeil on a sterling silver chain wrap. This utterly charming gemstone bracelet features an 18 carat yellow gold vermeil and micro pave Hamsa charm. Similar to the evil eye (also featured below), the Hamsa protects you, while red agate provides strength, calm and protection.

I love how each individual bracelet has its own meaning and there is a wide range to choose from.

Here’s more of our favourites:

Diamond Heart Friendship Bracelet – rose quartz gemstone with 18ct yellow gold vermeil and diamond micro pave heart charm. Once widely believed to be the seat of the human mind, we are wearing this Heart charm on the premise that everyone needs a little love – amen to that!

Wishbone Friendship Bracelet – faceted amazonite with 18 carat yellow gold vermeil and diamond micro pave wishbone charm. A symbol of luck, many believe that the wishbone will “catch” their dreams, bring good luck, and make their wishes come true, while amazonite is known as the lucky ‘hope’ stone.

Little Parcel Friendship Bracelet – faceted apatite with 18 carat yellow gold vermeil  parcel charm. The little parcel charm symbolises abundance and fortune, and can also symbolise your secrets and dreams.

Evil Eye Friendship Bracelet – lapis lazuli with 18ct yellow gold vermeil, turquoise and diamond micro pave evil eye charm. The evil eye safe guards and protects you while lapis lazuli is known to strengthen truth and bond relationships.

We think the above bracelets would make an excellent wedding gift from your hubby to be – I’ve certainly been dropping hints to Bob ever since we visited Astley Clarke’s showroom!

If your feeling generous, you could even give them as gifts to your bridesmaids – I know which one I would buy for Kelly!

Something Blue……….

7 Mar

I love Etsy, in fact I think I am becoming a little bit obsessed with the site! I almost spend as much time flicking through their pretty pages as I do writing/researching festival brides and that is no lie! Its immense!

Everyday the clever marketing people at Esty send me themed email treats with tons of inspirational eye candy, and everyday I become click-happy for an hour or two! Yesterday was no exception when they sent me a ‘true blue’ themed newsletter that was, quite frankly, brilliant. In fact, I loved it so much that it inspired me to put together a Something Blue Inspiration Mood Board featuring my favourite items from their email.

So here it is……………………….enjoy party people!
