Launched in September 2011, Festival Brides was founded by Laura Dunstone, a bride to be who, along with her fiance, had the crazy notion to put on a mini festival for their wedding! At that time, there was absolutely nothing online about festival wedding venues, suppliers and inspiration. Pinterest was still relatively new and the wedding blogs that did exist were more generic. Finding festival specific wedding inspiration and suppliers meant trawling through pages of results on google which took up a lot of time and often led to her feeling disheartened and frustrated. If she was struggling to find festival suppliers and inspiration, then other couples might be too, so Festival Brides was born.

Since then, Festival Brides has grown into something that we are extremely proud of and very passionate about. We are the only blog in the world that focuses on festival and bohemian style weddings and over the years have built a niche readership of over 100,000 unique readers per month with 80% coming from the UK. We are also proud to say that we are now one of the UK’s most popular wedding blogs.

Whether you are dreaming of a festival wedding on a farm, an intimate bohemian elopement on a beach or a handmade rustic barn party, we hope to inspire every single one of our readers to follow their hearts and plan a wedding that is unique to them. If you have a cool idea that challenges tradition, then we say go for it! There is no right or wrong when it comes to planning your wedding, nor is there one style or theme you should adhere too. Festival Brides does focus on outdoor festival style weddings but that doesn’t mean we don’t love a bit of vintage or industrial styling now and again. Your wedding should be about all the things you both love, so take what you need from our festival pages and go plan a wedding that is all about you!

HOW IT WORKS

Festival Brides is an online planning resource for brides and grooms who are searching for alternative, free spirited, bohemian and festival style inspiration for their wedding day. Each week we aim to supply our readers with daily information on everything they could possibly need to plan an awesome wedding. From venues to suppliers – we cover it all. We have an online wedding directory which features the UK’s best festival and outdoor wedding suppliers, a calendar so you can keep up to date on all the latest supplier events and we also promote unique wedding venues, handpicked for their individuality and beauty.

MEET THE TEAM

Laura

FOUNDER & EDITOR

Laura has a huge passion for music and everything she does is usually with BBC 6 Music or her record player spinning in the background. She loves to travel, read, write and dance and spends most of her time making her children giggle because their laughter is the best possible tonic there is in this world. She has a slight obsession with Rich Tea biscuits (don’t ask) and believes travelling India to be the reason she is who she is today. Long country walks is her therapy and spending time with her family is what keeps her sane. She LOVES her job and can’t believe Festival Brides is where it is today. Thank you to everyone who reads it.

Clare

SOCIAL MEDIA MANAGER

Married in a magical woodland, Clare’s an outdoors girl at heart. When she’s not seeking out inspo on Pinterest, or scrolling through Festival Brides Instagram you’ll find her out in the countryside with her beau and her beloved dog. A lover of rock climbing, hiking and camping in her hubby’s decked out Defender, fresh air is her drug! While she adores a clean, chic aesthetic, Clare’s music taste is arguably dirtier: anything with a heavy baseline is her jam. Borderline obsessed with all things lifestyle, mention anything beauty, wellbeing, interior decor or food related and you’re sure to get her all kinds of excited!
