We have such a stunning shoot to share with you today that is jam packed of some excellent wedding inspiration.
Styled by the fabulous Blue Fizz Events and Tents and captured so beautifully by Liberty Pearl Photography, this shoot comprises of two very contrasting but equally inspiring wedding styles; classic vintage with a modern edge and hippy festival with quirky flair. What I love the most about both these looks is they showcase some excellent alternative wedding ideas. The button bouquet and brooch by Vintage Button Bridal Design is a great alternative to a floral bouquet and the hippy style jewellery by Kye Tew Jewellery would look perfect on a Festival Bride looking for pieces that are more ‘festival’ than ‘bridal’. I also love the use of the floral Kimono in the festival look. It completely transforms the bride’s look and is such a fabulous way of dressing up your wedding gown for the evening.
Blue Fizz talks us through the inspiration for the shoot, the services they have to offer and the amazing suppliers involved……
For this shoot we chose two statement looks – Vintage and Festival and we collaborated with many amazing wedding suppliers from around the South West who all contributed with gorgeous dresses, beautiful jewellery and accessories plus a local salon, Nirvana Hair & Beauty Barnstaple, who created the models hair & make up.
The Festival Look
We went for a beautiful 60s look with bold colourful flowers, delicate long lace floaty dresses, eclectic table decorations with bright paper lanterns overhead, shabby chic candle holders plus white wooden chairs and tables to set off the look.
For the Festival Bridal look think soft tumbling curls with plaits and pretty flowers intertwined, teamed with a neutral make up pallet with accents of gold and turquoise.
The birth of the festival culture stems from the late 60s and early 70s. I took reference from the iconic scene alongside the bohemian heady colours in a very relaxed and vibrant shoot.
The Vintage Look
We went for effortless 1920s and 30s looks…. be swept away by glamorous long pillar empire line dresses, delicate flowers, trestle tables, lace accessories, beautiful bejewelled headpieces, handfuls of buttons, and pretty pearls, plus an abundance of cascading ribbons and oodles of bunting.
Think hair up, victory rolls and a bold make up pallet. Deep plumb lips and oodles of fluttering lashes for a Vintage Bridal look.
Our model Kirsty is wearing a beautiful dress by Days of Grace and gorgeous accessories including a Necklace by Hey Jules plus a Headpiece, brooch and quirky Button Bouquet by Vintage Button Bridal Design.
The simplicity of a bias cut gown and a re-vamped look were inspired by all the wonderful images of the V day anniversary this spring. The strong Victory Rolls here are softened and placed asymmetrically to give a fresher modern interpretation. Our accessories again evoke an era long gone yet still feel clean and young on our Model Kirsty.
The Venue & Marquees…
Our marquee for the shoot was located on the lawn in front of Clovelly Court. This was the perfect location for a coastal inspired wedding with beautiful sea views you really get that nautical vibe. Clovelly Court also lends itself as country house inspired wedding venue with its summer house, vast lawns and gardens to explore.
Made from natural cream, waxed canvas with featuring wooden poles and hemp guy-ropes, we offer marquee hire across the south west to anyone looking for a luxury tent that’s stylish inside and out – and suited to any weather.
The cake was lovingly created by Cherry Blossom Cakes & Cupcakes, who are a small independent cake company based in Exeter. All their Cakes, Cupcakes and Cookies are hand-crafted, exclusively designed and perfected to suit every taste.
All these wonderful images are thanks to Amber at Liberty Pearl Photography, who offers a professional and experienced photography service in Devon, Cornwall, Bristol and South West of England…..
